My Week 2 NFL Hot Takes

Another week, another article.

This time, I'm skipping the predictions and diving straight into the hot takes, quick-hit reactions to every game, each in three sentences or less. So without further ado, let’s dive right into it.

Commanders vs. Packers

Final Score: 27–18, Packers win

This one is simple, the Packers are legit Super Bowl contenders. Jordan Love was eight yards short of a 300 yard game, Tucker Kraft might be a top five tight end by the end of the season, and the Commanders may never win against Green Bay on the road anytime soon. Bottom line: Green Bay is no fluke.

Bears at Lions

Final Score: 52–21, Lions win

The Lions didn’t just beat the Bears, they dominated them. Jared Goff showed up against Chicago’s defense like it was preseason, and if Caleb Williams is the future, the Bears better start protecting it. Hot take: Detroit’s offense is more dangerous than Philly’s right now.

Seahawks at Steelers

Final Score: 31–17, Seahawks win

The Seahawks walked into Pittsburgh and punked the Steelers in their own house. Sam Darnold threw for nearly 300 yards, and Kenneth Walker iced it with a late TD. Hot take: Seattle’s ceiling is way higher than anyone’s giving them credit for.

Bills at Jets

Final Score: 30–10, Bills win

I am thoroughly convinced that the New York Jets may never beat the Bills again in the Josh Allen era. I seriously thought that it was going to be a closer game than this but this Bills team is continuously tough to beat. Hot take: If the Jets don’t get back Fields they might only win one game.

Patriots at Dolphins

Final Score: 33–27, Patriots win

Miami, what are we doing here man. Historically bad defensive game for the Fins, and the Patriots finally find themselves a win under their new head coach Mike Vrable. It seems like Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel does not care too much about winning. Hot take: we will see Mike McDaniel as a stand-up comedian one day.

49ers at Saints

Final Score: 26–21, 49ers win

Ok, ok, hear me out. The New Orleans Saints are not a bad team, but they will wind up losing every single game this season. That’s it, that’s my hot take. They should have won that game, but gave up too many dumb penalties. Rattler isn’t the problem for New Orleans, but expect rookie Tyler Shough to get some reps in very soon.

Jaguars at Bengals

Final Score: 31-27, Bengals win

I fear that without Joey B, the Bengals will no longer have a winning season. Although backup QB Jake Browning had a 92-yard game-winning touchdown drive, I don’t see this team going anywhere for the rest of this season. Hot take: Joe Burrows career will end sooner rather than later.

Browns at Ravens

Final Score: 41-17, Ravens win

Honestly there is no hot take for this one. Ravens will just continue to flat out dominate the AFC North, especially now that Borrow is out. The Browns continue to have a bad season and Lamar continues to put gas in the Ravens offense.

Rams at Titans

Final Score: 33-19, Rams win

It just seems like Cam Ward tries the plays that Will Levis did, expect for him it’s actually working! I figured that the Titans would lose this one, but I had hope for an upset going into the second half. Hot take: Cam Ward could win MVP within the next five years.

Broncos at Colts

Final Score: 29–28, Colts win

DANNY DIMES! This was a great comeback win for the Colts, and an even worse loss for the Broncos who should have won if it wasn’t for that last second penalty on their behalf. I am not worried for the Broncos season and I find it hard to believe that Daniel Jones will continue to have this good of a season. Hot take: if he does continue this, he will win MVP or if anything, comeback player of the year.

Panthers at Cardinals

Final Score: 27–22, Cardinals win

I really want to say that the Cardinals will be good this season, but I have to see them win a game against a better team than the Panthers and Saints, two of the worst teams in the NFC. I am still a big believer in Byrce Young, but an even bigger one in Kyler Murray. Hot take: if Murray stays healthy, he could make a deep playoff run.

Eagles at Chiefs

Final Score: 20–17, Eagles win

I feel like the Chiefs are going to be like the New York Yankees this season… they’ll beat the crap out of the bad teams and never win against the good teams. Although it was a close game the Eagles are way too dominant and are looking scary. Hot take: the Chiefs will miss the playoffs.
